MOSCOW REGION (FIBA U21 World Championship for Women) - Russia destroyed winless China 97-70 to remain unbeaten at the at the FIBA U21 World Championship for Women in the Moscow Region.

Playing before their own fans, the hosts stormed out to a 23-11 lead with three minutes remaining in the first quarter and pressed home the advantage the rest of the way.

By half-time, the advantage was 52-25 and the final two quarters were an exercise in damage limitation for the Chinese.

Elena Danilochkina and Ekaterina Savelyeva had 21 and 20 points, respectively, to pace the Russians.

Russia out-rebounded China, 52-22.

After Monday's rest day, Russia will look to remain undefeated when they take on Mali while China meet Belgium.
