VIDNOJE (FIBA U21 World Championship for Women) - Canada bounced back from their opening day thrashing to hosts Russia by throttling China 78-54 in the Moscow Region.

The North Americans took control early and pressed home their advantage, stretching a 24-13 lead at the end of the first quarter to 46-26 by half-time.

Natalie Ruth Olivia Doma had 18 points for the Canadians, who grabbed 54 rebounds to just 34 for the Asian giants.

Canada's defense limited China to a mere 24.7% (18 of 73) shooting from the field.

The Chinese, who were thrashed by France in their opening game, will not find the going any easier on Sunday as they take on the Russians, while Canada will be big favorites against winless Mali.
